Chandigarh. The door-to-door population count for Census 2027 will start in Haryana on January 25 and run until February 28, 2027. Residents who want to skip the wait can fill in their own details from January 10 to 24.
The schedule for the second phase of the census was notified on Saturday by Dr Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management, who is also the State Nodal Officer for Census 2027.
After the main count ends, a five-day revisional round will be held from March 1 to 5, 2027.
Dr Misra said residents can use the self-enumeration facility to submit their information in advance. After that, the population enumeration exercise will cover households across the state.
The second phase counts people. The first phase in Haryana, the houselisting and housing census, ran from May 1 to 30 this year. Before it, residents had a self-enumeration window from April 16 to 30.
Census 2027 is India’s first fully digital census and the first since 2011. Data is collected through mobile apps, and citizens can enter their own details online. The national reference date for the population count is midnight of March 1, 2027.
