Rewari sarpanch who keeps getting suspended now wants a Guinness World Record

Rewari sarpanch Guinness record

REWARI. Pinki has been pushed out of office four times in 15 months and has walked back in every time. Now the sarpanch of Dahina village in Haryana’s Rewari district wants Guinness World Records to put that on paper.

In an application dated September 27, 2026, she has asked Guinness to create a new category: the most official suspension or removal actions taken against an elected village sarpanch within 12 months. She calls the bid a protest against what she describes as political vendetta.

The district administration does not agree with her version of events, but it is not standing in her way either. Rewari Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Meena said each suspension was ordered on legitimate grounds. He added that she was restored as per administrative and legal norms and is serving as sarpanch today. On the record bid, he kept it short: “As for staking claim to a Guinness record, it is her right.”

Four orders, four comebacks

Pinki won Dahina’s sarpanch election in December 2022. The trouble started two and a half years later.

On June 9, 2025, she was suspended for the first time under Section 51(1)(A) of the Haryana Panchayati Raj Act, 1994. The Divisional Commissioner, Gurugram, put her back in the chair.

On March 27, 2026, she was suspended again. The same office reinstated her once more.

On June 2, 2026, came suspension number three. This time, the Punjab and Haryana High Court restored her.

On August 31, 2026, the district administration went a step further. It removed her from office and barred her from contesting panchayat elections for three years. She moved the high court again, which stayed the removal. She was back within weeks.

Three of the four actions landed between March and August this year, well inside the 12-month window she wants Guinness to measure.

Pinki maintained that politics, not misconduct, drove every order. Neither her account nor the DC’s response spells out the specific charges behind the suspensions.

The paperwork

Her claim dossier, prepared for the preliminary application, relies on news reports of her June 2025 suspension, the March 2026 suspension and the September announcement of her removal. She has offered to submit original government orders, appellate and court rulings, official panchayat records and independent reports, and says she will meet whatever evidence standards Guinness sets.

Whether Guinness recognises the category is another matter. There is no word yet from the record body.

For now, the score stands at administration 4, Pinki 4. And the sarpanch’s chair in Dahina is still hers.
