Gurugram alone makes up 40% of Haryana's exports

Gurugram. Gurugram sent goods worth about $8.33 billion to foreign markets last financial year. That is close to two of every five dollars Haryana earned from goods exports, a senior state official said on Tuesday.

Dr Amit Kumar Agrawal, Commissioner and Secretary of the Industries and Commerce Department, gave the figure at a state-level workshop on free trade agreements (FTAs) in Gurugram.

Haryana’s total goods exports in 2025-26 were $20.57 billion. This means the rest of the state together exported about $12.2 billion.

Agrawal said Gurugram’s mix of manufacturing, engineering, IT and IT-enabled services, and Global Capability Centres (GCCs) drives this large share.

Help for exporters

The state has set up a dedicated Market Development and Export Promotion Cell in the Directorate of MSME to support exporters, Agrawal said. The new Haryana Progressive MSME and Export Promotion Policy, 2026, is also meant to help them.

Dr Yash Garg, Director General of the Directorate of MSME, said exporters are getting help with funding, quality certification, freight costs, participation in international trade fairs and online market links.

He said market information, technical guidance and training must also reach district and industrial cluster level, so that smaller units outside the big cities can export too.

Bigger goal

The figures come as Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has promised to double Haryana’s exports in five years. The state now ranks sixth in the country in exports and sells to over 200 countries and territories.
