Gurugram to get 25-acre world-class convention centre, CM Saini studies Singapore model
CHANDIGARH. Gurugram will get a world-class convention centre spread over about 25 acres, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced during his visit to Singapore.
The centre will host major international conferences, business meetings, exhibitions and global events. It will be built with the latest technology and modern engineering, the Chief Minister said.
To learn from global best practices, Saini visited Singapore’s Suntec City, one of Asia’s best-known convention hubs. He studied its facilities, construction methods, engineering and day-to-day operations.
Saini said the project will boost Gurugram’s global identity and bring more investment and business to Haryana. This, he said, will give a push to the state’s economy.
Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh and senior state officers were with him during the visit.
Big park planned for Manesar
The Chief Minister also spoke about plans for Manesar. The state government will build modern infrastructure in the area along with a large, well-designed park. He said this will speed up development and give residents better civic facilities and more green space.
Lessons from Gardens by the Bay
Saini also visited Singapore’s famous Gardens by the Bay. He looked at how the gardens protect the environment, preserve plant species and manage water. He took a close look at their water supply and conservation systems.
Indian tourists at the gardens met the Chief Minister and posed for photographs with him. Several families clicked selfies. He also chatted with foreign tourists.
The government said ideas from the visit on urban planning, convention facilities, environmental protection and water management will be put to use in Haryana to make the state more modern and sustainable.
